Nguyen Van Duoc, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, has issued a decision on the assignment of tasks to the chairman, vice chairmen, and members of the city's People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, replacing the decision issued in early July.
Chairman Nguyen Van Duoc will directly oversee strategy, overall socio-economic development planning, the city's budget, organizational structure, personnel work, administrative reform, financial management, the state budget and investment planning, national defense, security, internal affairs, Resolution 57, Conclusion 123 on economic growth of 8% or more, traffic safety, piloting mechanisms and policies for the development of Con Dao special zone, and more.
He is in charge of the Departments of Finance, Internal Affairs, and the City Police, the High Command, the City Development Research Institute, and monitors and directs 8 wards in the former districts 1 and 7, 4 communes of the former Can Gio district, and the Con Dao special zone.

Nguyen Van Tho, standing vice chairman, directly manages public investment projects prior to 1/7 in the former Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, administrative justice, ethnic affairs, religion, fire prevention and fighting, rescue and rescue, anti-corruption, and more.
He directly manages the Office of the City People's Committee, the City Inspectorate, the Department of Justice, the Department of Ethnic Affairs and Religion, the Youth Volunteer Force, 27/7 Co., Ltd., the Youth Volunteer Public Service One Member Limited Liability Company, and several companies and units from the former Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.
He is responsible for 11 wards and 8 communes, mainly in the former Ba Ria-Vung Tau area, such as Vung Tau ward, Tam Thang ward, and Rach Dua ward.
Vice chairman Nguyen Loc Ha directly manages foreign affairs, public investment projects prior to 1/7 in the former Binh Duong province, industry, foreign-invested economic zones, and the private economy.
He directly manages the 4th Industrial Revolution Center, Tan Thuan IPC, Liksin, and several companies and units from the former Binh Duong province.
He monitors and directs 12 wards and 6 communes, mainly in the former Binh Duong area, such as Di An, Dong Hoa, and Tan Dong Hiep.
Vice chairman Nguyen Manh Cuong monitors and directs the implementation of Resolutions 24 and 31 of the Central Committee and Resolution 98 of the National Assembly, and is in charge of public servant management, emulation, commendation, and administrative procedures. He oversees the Departments of Finance and Internal Affairs, the Ho Chi Minh City Cadre Academy, and the Public Administrative Service Center.
He monitors and directs 15 wards, mainly in the former Thu Duc City area, such as Hiep Binh, Thu Duc, and Tam Binh, and the former District 5, such as Cho Quan and Cho Lon.
Vice chairman Bui Xuan Cuong is assigned to public investment projects, planning, architecture, urban development, construction, transport, urban technical infrastructure, and the construction of the new Thu Thiem urban area.
He directly manages the Department of Construction, the Ho Chi Minh City Development Management Board, the Railway Project Management Unit, the Transport Project Management Unit, the Urban Infrastructure Management Board, and the Civil and Industrial Construction Management Board. He monitors and directs 18 wards and 9 communes, such as Minh Phung, Phu Nhuan, Tan Phu, Tan Vinh Loc, Binh Chanh, and Nha Be.
Vice chairman Nguyen Van Dung is in charge of finance, budget, land valuation, trade, services, tourism, and public assets.
He directly manages the Departments of Tourism and Industry and Trade, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), and the Ho Chi Minh City Finance and Investment State-owned Company (HFIC).
He is responsible for 20 wards and 7 communes, including Xom Chieu, Khanh Hoi, Dong Hung Thuan, Binh Tien, and Cu Chi.
Vice chairman Bui Minh Thanh is assigned to land management, natural resources and environment, land use fees, land rent, agricultural economy, climate change response, and irrigation.
He is in charge of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the High-Tech Agricultural Zone Management Board, and several companies in the Binh Duong area.
He directs 12 wards and 6 communes, mainly in the former Binh Duong area, such as Hoa Loi, Thoi Hoa, Phu An, Tru Van Tho, Bau Bang, and Dau Tieng.

Vice chairwoman Tran Thi Dieu Thuy is in charge of health, education, training, culture, sports, publishing, press, labor, invalids and social affairs, food hygiene and safety, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, information technology, post, and telecommunications.
She directly manages the Departments of Science and Technology, Health, Education and Training, Culture and Sports, and Food Safety, the High-Tech Zone Management Board, the Digital Transformation Center, and universities under the City People's Committee.
She monitors and directs 17 wards and 4 communes, such as Xuan Hoa, Nhieu Loc, Tan Binh, Hoc Mon, and Ba Diem.
The new city has an area of over 6,700 km2 and a population of about 14 million people, becoming a new megacity of the region and the country. The administrative center is located in Ho Chi Minh City. In terms of GDP and budget contribution, the new city ranks first in the country. The city aims for a GRDP per capita of about 14,000 to 15,000 USD by 2030, and to be among the world's top 100 cities by 2045. This year, the target for GRDP growth is over 8.5%.
