On the afternoon of 24/9, the People's Committee of Chanh Hiep ward (Ho Chi Minh City) mediated between 33-year-old Vo Thu Thao and the 30-year-old owner of the house mistakenly built on her land at DX066 street. The unusual incident was discovered in mid-June, but the two parties had not yet agreed on a solution.
Thao and her husband explained they purchased the 71.4 m2 plot of land at DX066 street (formerly Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province) earlier in the year and received the land title certificate. Since they lacked the funds to build immediately, they left the land vacant. At that time, many adjacent plots were also undeveloped. On 14/6, as they prepared to begin construction, they discovered a house had been mistakenly built on their property.

At the meeting, the homeowner admitted the mistake, stating the house, registered under his wife's sister's name, had received a construction permit. He agreed to hire "miracle movers" for 200 million VND to relocate the house to his adjacent plot within 45 days.
Thao's family agreed but stated they would file a lawsuit if the deadline was not met. The ward People's Committee approved this plan.
A similar case occurred previously in Hai Phong when Tran Thi Kim Loan discovered Do Van Huu had mistakenly built a house on her land, leading to legal action.
