The 1.6 km long, 6 m wide Nhu Y riverside walkway stretches from Dap Da (adjacent to the Perfume River) to Van Duong bridge, passing through Thuan Hoa and Vy Da wards. The project represents a total investment of over 267 billion VND.
Construction began in 7/2023 as part of Hue City's environmental improvement project, funded by a 24.8 billion yen ODA loan from Japan, initiated in 8/2015. Originally slated for completion in 6/2024, the project faced delays due to fluctuations in the yen exchange rate impacting the project's budget. Final touches are currently underway.

To construct the riverside walkway, the contractor built a river embankment supported by concrete piles.
Homes previously tucked away in dead-end alleys now enjoy river frontage. Residents have opened homestays and cafes along the route to cater to tourists and locals.

The Nhu Y riverside walkway will connect with the existing Perfume River walkway at Dap Da, creating a continuous pedestrian route.
According to the Management Board of Regional Investment and Construction Project 1, auxiliary components of the walkway are under expedited construction and are expected to be completed this year.
A parking area exceeding 1,300 m2 near Dap Da has been paved with granite and landscaped with oil palms. Recently, numerous tourist buses have parked there, helping to alleviate traffic congestion on Le Loi street.
