The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently issued a decision on the new journalist ID card design. According to regulations, the journalist ID card number consists of 9 digits, randomly selected by a software system.
The card design features both Vietnamese and English languages and integrates a QR code for online verification. The front displays the cardholder's photo in the upper left corner, with the QR code for information identification below it. When the QR code is scanned, users can look up in real time the card's validity status, the cardholder's full name, the media agency, and the ID card number.

In addition to personal information such as full name, pen name, birth year, and affiliated agency, the card also displays the card number, issue date, and expiration date. The bottom right features the title and signature of the authorized person, along with the seal of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The journalist ID card is valid for five years from the date of issue. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned the Press Department to lead, in coordination with the Radio, Television and Electronic Information Department and relevant units, the management, issuance, renewal, revocation, and standardized use of journalist ID cards. It will also manage data and verify card information as per regulations.
The card is similar in size to a citizen identification card, made of PVC plastic, and laminated on both sides. The front has a yellow background, featuring a lotus image in the center along with Dong Son drum patterns. The back has a red background, decorated with Dong Son drum motifs, lotus images, and the national emblem.
