A tragic motorcycle accident on national highway 1 in Lam Dong province has claimed one life and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred around 9:30 AM when a large displacement motorcycle, carrying a father and son, veered off the road and crashed into a tree. They were part of a convoy traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang for the Asia-Pacific motorcycle festival.

According to Luong Son commune police, the driver, Bui Duc Thanh Khiet, 49, a resident of Long Truong ward, Ho Chi Minh City, died at the scene. His 18-year-old son, Bui Duc Gia Huy, who was the passenger, suffered serious injuries. Witnesses at the scene stated that the two men were thrown onto the road, lying motionless after the impact.
The Ho Chi Minh City-registered motorcycle was flung nearly 20 meters from the impact point, coming to rest in front of a roadside residential fence. At the time of the accident, Luong Son commune experienced rain, making the road surface slippery, which may have contributed to the crash.

Lam Dong provincial police are currently examining the scene and investigating the exact cause of the accident.
