Lai Chau elects new provincial party secretary

Le Minh Ngan, standing deputy secretary of the provincial party committee, has been elected as the new party secretary of Lai Chau province for the 2025-2030 term.

On the morning of 19/9, the 15th Lai Chau Provincial Party Congress announced the election results for the 2025-2030 term. Le Minh Ngan was elected as the new provincial party secretary, replacing Giang Pao My.

Le Van Luong, chairman of the provincial People's Committee, and Sung A Ho, chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, were elected as deputy secretaries of the provincial party committee.

The provincial party committee's inspection commission, comprised of 13 members, will be led by Nguyen Ngoc Vinh.

In his acceptance speech, Ngan affirmed his commitment to developing a team of dedicated and exemplary officials and party members to guide Lai Chau's green, rapid, and sustainable development into a new era.

In 2/2020, he was appointed deputy minister of natural resources and environment.

In 3/2025, when the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment merged with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to form the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, he continued to serve as deputy minister. In early 9/2025, the Party Secretariat assigned him to the position of standing deputy secretary of the Lai Chau provincial party committee.

Lai Chau is a mountainous province in the northwest, covering 9,000 km2 with a population of nearly 500,000. Lai Chau shares a 265 km border with China and is home to the Ma Lu Thang international border gate.
