Earth and rocks from the uphill slope covered approximately half of National Route 28B, posing a significant danger to passing vehicles. The incident took place about 500 meters from the Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant, located on a steep, winding section with limited visibility.

Immediately after the landslide, drivers at the scene took proactive measures. Tran Huy Dang, one of the drivers present, remarked, "The area is very dangerous, especially for unfamiliar drivers." Dang and several other drivers stopped their vehicles, placed warning signs, guided traffic to slow down, and promptly notified authorities about the hazardous conditions.

National Route 28B, approximately 68 kilometers long, serves as a vital transportation artery connecting National Route 1 in the Luong Son area with National Route 20 in Duc Trong.
