On 22/9, heavy rain caused a 30-meter tree within the grounds of Thai Hoa A Elementary School in Tan Dong Hiep ward to uproot and fall towards the school gate. The incident damaged approximately 30 meters of fencing.

Witness Nguyen Nam stated the tree fell where students usually wait for parents and buy snacks after school. "Just 15 minutes before the tree fell, many children were still around," he said.

School officials said the tree had been planted many years ago and its crown was trimmed before the rainy season for safety. Following the incident, the school is inspecting and trimming the remaining large trees.

Five years ago, a poinciana tree also uprooted on the school grounds.

The heavy rain also caused flooding in Di An City and Bien Hoa; National Highway 1K near Suoi Siep experienced extended congestion due to rising stream water impacting flood control projects.
