According to the Vietnam News Agency (TTX), standing member of the secretariat Tran Cam Tu, on behalf of the politburo, signed the decision to appoint Nghiem Xuan Thanh as Khanh Hoa provincial party secretary for the 2025-2030 term. He is also nominated to be the head of the National Assembly delegation of Khanh Hoa province for the 16th term.

Mr. Thanh, 55, from Vinh Phuc, holds a doctorate in economics and is a member of the 13th central committee of the communist party. He has served as chief of office of the State Bank of Vietnam; general director and chairman of the board of directors of Vietcombank; member of the standing board of the party committee of the central business bloc; and party secretary of the former Hau Giang province.

The politburo also appointed Ho Xuan Truong, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee for the 2020-2025 term, as standing deputy secretary for the 2025-2030 term.

Nguyen Khac Toan, standing deputy secretary of the provincial party committee for the 2020-2025 term, was appointed as deputy secretary of the Khanh Hoa provincial party committee for the 2025-2030 term. He is also nominated to be the chairman of the Khanh Hoa people's committee for the 2021-2026 and 2026-2031 terms.

Recently, Tran Quoc Nam, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee and chairman of the provincial people's committee, and Pham Van Hau, deputy secretary of the provincial party committee and chairman of the Vietnam fatherland front committee of the province, submitted their resignations for personal reasons.
