Northern region to see rain next week

Humid southeast winds combined with a weak cold air mass will bring rain to the Northern region next week, with some lowland and coastal areas possibly experiencing heavy rainfall.

The Northern region enjoyed favorable weather during the two days off for the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, with light sunshine and little rain. Starting early monday (27/4), this area will experience scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rain in the lowlands and coastal areas, due to the influence of a humid southeast wind, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

From the afternoon of 28/4, rain will intensify as a low-pressure trough is compressed by a weak cold air mass. By the early morning and day of 29/4, the cold air will have a more pronounced effect, bringing heavy rain to the Northern region, along with risks of whirlwinds, tornadoes, and hail.

During the two holidays of 30/4-1/5, under the influence of the weak cold air mass, the Northern region will be dry with light sunshine, and no widespread heat will occur.

High-altitude areas above 1,500 m, such as Sa Pa (Lao Cai), will see their lowest temperatures next week at 13-15 degrees Celsius on wednesday.

The Central region will experience mostly dry weather from now until the end of april. Specifically, Thanh Hoa - Nghe An will have scattered showers and localized thunderstorms on 29/4 due to the cold air. Other areas will generally be dry, with maximum temperatures below 35 degrees Celsius, and no widespread heat occurring.

During the 30/4-1/5 holiday, the entire Central region will be sunny with little rain, favorable for tourism activities.

The Central Highlands and Southern region will see little rain from now until around 28/4. The Southern region will continue to experience heat with maximum temperatures of 35-37 degrees Celsius. From 28/4, afternoon and evening thunderstorms will return, helping to cool temperatures.

During the 30/4-1/5 holiday, these two regions will have sunny days with localized afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Maximum temperatures in the Central Highlands will be 31-34 degrees Celsius, and in the Southern region 33-35 degrees Celsius, with some areas still experiencing heat.
