Launched in early 2024, the organic rice project in Lang Tron ward and Vinh Thanh commune is an investment by Misun Group Corporation. The company employs organic farming methods, strictly prohibiting the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and growth stimulants.
Each grain of rice develops through a natural biological process, absorbing nutrients from the soil, water, and sunlight without artificial ripening. Notably, the rice is free of synthetic glucose, making it suitable for a wide range of consumers, especially those on diets, the elderly, and children. It's also low in fat and easily digestible while still providing ample energy.

In this model, the company invests in seeds, land preparation, labor, and bio-products. The farmers, who own the land, are responsible for adhering to strict organic procedures, including controlling rats and golden apple snails, weeding, replanting, and managing water resources. They report any issues promptly to the company's technicians. After harvesting, the company provides machinery for cutting and guarantees the purchase of the entire yield, deducting 35% for initial costs. In case of natural disasters, the company provides support of 2 million VND per 1,000 m2.
Nguyen Van Dua, a farmer from Lang Tron ward who has participated in 4 growing seasons under this partnership, said the biggest benefit is "stable income and long-term land protection." He currently cultivates 2.5 hectares, achieving an average yield of 7 tons per hectare. The company purchases the rice at 11,000 VND per kilogram, significantly higher than the market price for ST24 and ST25 varieties (7,100-7,500 VND). After deducting expenses, his family profits 80-100 million VND per harvest, with three harvests per year.
Dua believes that organic farming saves farmers labor, costs, and protects their health by eliminating exposure to chemicals. "Since joining the partnership," he said, "I no longer worry about being pressured by traders when the market fluctuates."
Other farmers also shared initial difficulties adapting to the new chemical-free methods. However, with guidance and technical support, they have gained confidence and improved their production efficiency.

Ta Van Lam, Technical Director of Misun Group, explained that the key to this glucose-free rice is the DDMS24 organic nutrient solution, a company product extracted from plants, rich in enzymes, amino acids, and trace minerals. This allows the rice to grow healthily without chemical intervention.
"Organic rice farming not only increases the value of the rice but also benefits the environment by reducing residual toxins in the soil," Lam said, adding that the company plans to expand by another 60 hectares in Ly Van Lam ward.
Currently, the company primarily uses the ST24 variety, a long-grain rice with a mild aroma, soft and sweet aftertaste, highly regarded in the international market. However, the flavor and quality of the final product also depend on the soil and farming practices of each region.
The nutritious rice from this model has been tested by SGS USA and meets FDA standards, with indicators showing no glucose, no cholesterol, and balanced carbohydrates at 81.1%.
Ho Trung Viet, Head of the Propaganda and Public Relations Department of Ca Mau province, recently visited the project and praised the farmers' innovative approach, the company's partnership, and local support. He affirmed that the province will continue to facilitate the development of organic rice in suitable areas to improve incomes and build a brand for clean agricultural products.
