Approximately one hour after takeoff, a 57-year-old Vietnamese male passenger experienced a medical emergency. The cabin crew requested medical assistance, and three doctors on board provided first aid, but the passenger's condition did not improve.
Given the situation, the captain decided to divert the flight to Istanbul and notified ground staff to prepare for the emergency landing. After the plane landed, the passenger was immediately transported to a local medical facility.

The aircraft refueled and departed Istanbul at 5:32 PM local time, arriving in Ho Chi Minh City three hours and 20 minutes behind schedule.
This is not the first time Vietnam Airlines has made an emergency landing for a passenger. On 29/6, flight VN7569 from Hanoi to Cam Ranh diverted to Da Nang. Similarly, on 5/5, flight VN35 from Hanoi to Frankfurt, Germany, landed in Erzurum, Turkey, for a similar incident.
The airline advises passengers to consult a doctor before flying, especially those with pre-existing medical conditions, to ensure flight safety.
