Police break cabin to rescue driver trapped after highway accident

Police used hydraulic equipment to cut open a truck cabin, freeing a driver trapped following an accident on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway access road.

At approximately 10h on 13/3, 41-year-old Ta Van Khi, from Ha Noi, crashed his tractor-trailer into a guardrail on the access road to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway in Núi Thanh commune. The impact severely deformed the cabin, trapping Khi inside.

Fire and Rescue Team Area 9, a unit of the Da Nang City Police Department's Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police Department, quickly dispatched a command vehicle, a rescue vehicle, a fire truck, and many personnel to the site.

With the cabin door jammed and crushed metal components severely restricting interior space, rescue teams used spreaders and hydraulic equipment to dismantle parts of the cabin, creating an access point to the victim.

Within approximately 30 minutes, police safely extricated the driver and transferred him to medical personnel for transport to a hospital. The accident's cause remains under investigation.
