Around 10:15 PM on 15/9, a fire broke out on the first floor of a four-story tube house, approximately 40 square meters in size, located on Nguyen Viet Xuan Street, Ha Dong ward. Neighbors attempted to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers, but were unsuccessful.
The fire raged behind two layers of folding doors and a roller shutter. Inside, a mother and her two young children, aged 6 and 3, were trapped on the second floor.
Approximately 7 minutes after the fire started, firefighters arrived with 4 fire trucks and 24 personnel from Rescue Units 4 and 15.
Upon arrival, the fire was engulfing the first floor, with smoke and toxic fumes spreading to the upper floors via the staircase.
To extinguish the fire and rescue the trapped family, the fire commander directed one team to break open the roller shutter at the front of the house. Equipped with personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus, they proceeded to search the upper floors. Another team focused on containing the fire on the first floor, preventing it from spreading to the upper levels and adjacent houses.
By 10:25 PM, firefighters had controlled the blaze and rescued the mother and her two children. They were handed over to medical personnel and taken to Ha Dong General Hospital. All three are now in stable condition.
