The impact sent the truck careening into a roadside ditch, crushing the cabin and seriously injuring the three occupants. The front of the tractor-trailer was also damaged. Bystanders helped extract two of the truck's occupants, who were then taken to the hospital. The driver, however, remained trapped in his seat.
The Dak Lak Provincial Police Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police dispatched two vehicles and 13 officers to the scene. Rescuers used specialized equipment to pry open the cabin while another team cut through the steel trapping the driver. A tow truck was also brought in to pull the damaged truck from the ditch.
