President calls for unity to drive development in new era

The president affirmed that all achievements of the past 80 years stem from national unity, emphasizing the need for breakthroughs in science, innovation, and private sector development.

At a meeting on August 24th with representatives from various sectors of society organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, President Luong Cuong expressed the Party, State, and people's appreciation for the contributions of workers, farmers, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, ethnic minorities, religious communities, and overseas Vietnamese. He emphasized that national strength is forged through unity, and this will continue to be the foundation for the country's development in the new era.

The president stated that entrepreneurs play a vital role in innovation, improving labor productivity, and increasing national competitiveness. Their activities not only contribute to business development but also align with national goals, contributing to job creation, poverty reduction, and social stability.

He also extended gratitude to the overseas Vietnamese community, affirming them as an integral part of the nation. Despite numerous difficulties and challenges, overseas Vietnamese remain connected to their homeland, actively contributing their intellect, resources, and affection to the country.

The president underscored that over the past 80 years, all of the nation's victories have stemmed from the power of unity. In this new era, the country faces significant opportunities as well as challenges. To capitalize on these opportunities, the entire nation needs to continue fostering patriotism, self-reliance, and a desire for development.

According to the president, the Party must innovate its leadership methods, the State must streamline its apparatus, remove institutional bottlenecks, and promote the digital society. The three strategic breakthroughs – institutions, human resources, and infrastructure – need to be decisively implemented. Concurrently, ministries, sectors, and localities must focus on enhancing the quality of political apparatus operations.

The president stressed the need for breakthroughs in science and technology, national innovation, promoting comprehensive international integration, and developing the private sector, considering it one of the most important drivers of the economy.

He requested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front continue to promote its role in building and consolidating national unity. The Front needs to constantly innovate its content and methods of operation to unite and gather all social strata, ethnic groups, religions, the business community, and overseas Vietnamese.

The president expressed his hope that the Front will strongly inspire patriotism, promote the wisdom, resources, and proactive role of the people, thereby strengthening great national unity in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
