Traffic organization at the La Thanh - Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection was adjusted starting 30/5 to facilitate the construction of S3 station, part of urban railway line 5 (Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac).
During the first three days, the construction unit erected barriers and conducted trial runs of the diversion plan to monitor actual traffic conditions and promptly address any issues.

Despite the implementation of the diversion plan, the La Thanh - Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection experienced congestion in the first two days due to the high volume of vehicles during peak hours.
Authorities stated they will continue to monitor traffic developments around the S3 station area to adjust the traffic organization plan as needed during the construction period.

One cause of the traffic congestion is a "bottleneck" effect on Nguyen Chi Thanh street as it approaches the La Thanh intersection. The road narrows from 5 lanes to 2 lanes at the intersection, significantly reducing traffic capacity.
Under the new traffic plan, vehicles on Nguyen Chi Thanh street wishing to pass through the intersection must turn onto La Thanh street for a short distance before turning back to continue their journey. This change in direction concentrates traffic at the turning point, making congestion likely during peak hours.
Vehicles traveling on La Thanh street through the intersection must also follow a similar route, turning onto Nguyen Chi Thanh street and then back to La Thanh street to continue their journey. Since traffic flow in both directions through the intersection is restricted, and vehicle volume is very high, especially during peak hours, this area is prone to prolonged local congestion.

The contractor must deploy personnel to guide traffic in coordination with the Traffic Police to minimize the risk of congestion at the construction site.
