Around midnight, a fire broke out on the first floor of a 50 square meter house belonging to Nguyen Van Dat on Tran Thi Ky street.
Flames quickly engulfed the house. Dat and his wife, who were on the second floor, escaped through the mezzanine. Their two sons, aged 16 and 12, were trapped in a third-floor room as smoke and fire spread from the first floor via the staircase.
