Residents capture crocodile on national highway

A crocodile, approximately one meter long and weighing around 20 kg, was seen crawling across National Highway 1 in Ho Nai ward, causing panic among commuters on the evening of 4/6.

Around 8 PM, commuters on National Highway 1 spotted the crocodile in the middle of the road, specifically in Ho Nai ward. This forced numerous motorbikes and cars to slow down and swerve to avoid a collision.

Several young men attempted to subdue the reptile but were unsuccessful due to its strong resistance. Subsequently, residents used a tarpaulin to capture the animal and move it to the roadside.

'When I arrived, the crocodile was already in the middle of the road. Even though its mouth was taped shut, many people were still scared, especially women,' said Ms. Hue, a passerby.

Local residents speculate that the crocodile likely fell or escaped from a cargo truck traveling on the national highway.

The Ho Nai ward People's Committee and police are currently working to identify the crocodile's owner for appropriate action.
