This incident temporarily disrupted the north-south railway line through Hai Van Pass. Two passenger trains had their journeys affected at the time of the incident. The railway sector subsequently arranged for passenger transfers by oto between Da Nang Station and Lang Co Station (Hue City) to allow passengers to continue their journeys.
As of 12 h 30 this afternoon, approximately 5 passenger trains were affected, necessitating passenger transfer arrangements. This involved hundreds of passengers per trip.
Immediately after the incident, railway management and rescue forces were dispatched to the scene. Their tasks included clearing the rockslide, repairing the damaged track section, and removing the derailed locomotive. Units focused on repairs to quickly restore train operations, with the line expected to reopen by early afternoon the same day.
