The Thang Long Project Management Board said the contractor will install 10 gantry cranes along the approximately 40 km expressway section, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the same day. During this time, vehicles traveling through the Gia Mieu interchange to the Dong Thang interchange will be diverted to nearby provincial and national highways.

In the North-South direction, vehicles will be directed to exit the expressway at the Gia Mieu interchange, follow National Highway 217B to National Highway 1, and then re-enter the expressway at the Dong Thang interchange. In the South-North direction, vehicles will exit the expressway at the Dong Thang interchange, turn onto the Thanh Hoa City - Tho Xuan Airport connecting route, and then re-enter the expressway at the Gia Mieu interchange.

At other interchanges such as Ha Linh, Trieu Giang, and Dong Xuan, vehicles will also be directed to follow national and provincial highways instead of using the expressway during the closure. The construction unit will deploy sufficient signage, signals, and on-site personnel to ensure safe travel for the public.

North-South expressway projects in phase 1, including the Mai Son - National Highway 45 route, are being equipped with traffic monitoring and management systems, electronic toll collection, and vehicle weight control systems. The Ministry of Construction has requested project management boards to complete the installation of these systems by 31/10, conduct trial operations, and hand them over for operation by 31/12.

The 63 km Mai Son - National Highway 45 expressway, passing through Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa provinces, was implemented in phase 1 with 4 lanes, a 17 m roadbed, and a design speed of 80 km/h. The route starts in Mai Son commune, Yen Mo district (Ninh Binh), connecting to the Cao Bo - Mai Son expressway, and ends at the Nghi Son - Tho Xuan intersection in Tan Phuc commune, Nong Cong district (Thanh Hoa).
