Service support levels for leaders adjusted from July 20

The government has increased service support for various leadership positions and military and police generals, with the highest level rising from 400,000 dong to 2.7 million dong per month.

The government recently issued Decree 199/2026, outlining policies for service support for leadership positions under the management of the Politburo and the Secretariat, as well as positions based on rank in the People's Public Security and the People's Army. The decree is effective from July 20.

Under the new regulation, the highest service support level is 2.7 million dong per month. This applies to Politburo-managed positions, including: official members of the Party Central Committee, deputy chairpersons of the Central Inspection Committee, deputy heads of central Party committees, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, chairman of the President's Office, provincial and city Party secretaries, and chairpersons of the People's Councils and People's Committees of Hanoi and TP HCM.

This group sees the largest adjustment compared to the current regulation, which has been in effect since 2005, with their monthly support increasing from 400,000 dong to 2.7 million dong.

Positions managed by the Secretariat will receive 1.35 million dong per month, an increase from the current 200,000 dong. This group includes: deputy heads of Party organs and agencies at the central level, deputy directors of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, deputy chief justices of the Supreme People's Court, deputy prosecutors general of the Supreme People's Procuracy, deputy chairpersons of the President's Office, members of the Central Inspection Committee, deputy ministers, and equivalent positions.

For the armed forces, police officers holding the rank of senior lieutenant general and military officers holding the rank of senior lieutenant general or admiral will receive 2.7 million dong per month. Those with lieutenant general or vice admiral ranks will receive 2 million dong per month, while major general or rear admiral ranks will receive 1.35 million dong per month.

Overall, the new decree increases service support by 1.15 million to 2.3 million dong per month compared to the existing regulations.

The decree specifies that individuals who retire will no longer receive service support. If an individual holds multiple positions, they will only receive the highest applicable support level. The support is disbursed monthly along with salaries from the annual state budget allocations of the paying agency.
