Witnesses reported that the bicycle was traveling at a high speed, suggesting a possible stuck throttle. School officials stated that the incident occurred within the school grounds and did not involve any other vehicles, ruling out racing as a factor.

Dong Nai Provincial Police conducted an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. On the morning of 13/9, school officials visited the family to offer their condolences.
