Around 10:00, a network problem caused the departure system at the international terminal to malfunction, preventing many passengers from completing their procedures. Several flights were scheduled close together, leading to long queues and congestion in the terminal as passengers continued to arrive.
With departure times approaching and procedures incomplete, many passengers became anxious, seeking assistance from airport staff. The system gradually recovered closer to noon, and the counters reopened to process passenger documents.

A representative from the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Security Center said the incident affected approximately 7 flights, but did not specify the total number of passengers impacted. By early afternoon, the network connection had stabilized.
After the network was restored, the Security Center collaborated with relevant parties and airlines to prioritize passengers with imminent departure times. Assistance was also provided to those who missed their flights.
"While the network was down, departure procedures, such as data entry of passenger information, could not be done manually. We had to wait for the system to be restored," the airport security representative explained, adding that similar incidents have occurred before, but this was the first time it lasted for several hours.
Tan Son Nhat has three terminals: T1 and T3 serve domestic flights, while T2 handles international flights. Currently, T2 serves an average of approximately 50,000 arriving and departing passengers daily.
