According to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, distributing operations between the two domestic terminals, T1 and T3, has significantly reduced congestion. All flights from Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines have now transitioned to Terminal 3, which has a capacity of 20 million passengers annually. With only VietJet Air operating at Terminal 1, the previous overcrowding has been alleviated.
Terminal 3, operational since late April, proved effective during the summer peak season. Despite a 5% increase in travel demand, the airport maintained smooth operations. Additionally, the implementation of VNeID identification has shortened check-in times for passengers.
From May 22 to August 17, Tan Son Nhat airport served over 60,000 flights with 10.2 million passengers, averaging nearly 119,000 passengers per day.
