Around 9 a.m., a tanker truck traveling on National Highway 1, heading south, collided with a motorbike carrying Nguyen Thi Dan, 50, and Pham Thi Thuat, 60, both residents of Hai Loc commune, as it crossed the railway line to enter a residential road in Vinh Hung ward.

The head-on collision threw both women from their motorbike. The tanker truck ran over them, killing them instantly.

At the scene, the bodies of the two victims lay beneath the tanker truck's wheels, and the motorbike was mangled. Oil and blood stained the road.

The road where the accident occurred is approximately 6 meters wide and near a railway crossing.

Nghe An Provincial Police directed traffic, and the scene was cleared by early afternoon. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
