In neighborhood 7, Ham Rong ward, one house was submerged almost up to its roof. Pham Duc Toan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Rong ward, said that seven neighborhoods, from 4 to 10, are currently flooded from 1 to 6 meters deep.

Last night, heavy flooding caused an 80-meter breach in the T2 canal dike in Tong Son commune, flooding over 200 hectares of rice paddies. This morning, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police's search and rescue forces were mobilized to help relocate over 100 tons of rice from a granary near the breach. |
A boy in neighborhood 8, Ham Rong ward, was carried by a relative inside the dike to evacuate this afternoon.
According to Ham Rong ward authorities, over 2,100 households with 7,230 residents are currently affected by the flood. Residents are mainly instructed to evacuate in place, moving to higher floors within their homes. The elderly, children, and the sick are prioritized for evacuation to schools, cultural centers, or relatives' homes inside the dike.

Luong Trong Truong, from neighborhood 7, Ham Rong ward, swam through the floodwaters to retrieve food supplied by relatives. His house is currently flooded to a depth of over one meter. "The floodwaters rose very quickly. I stayed up all night and early this morning to move belongings to higher ground to prevent damage," Truong said, adding that the Ma River's water level is only 20-30 cm below the historic flood peak of 2017.

Hundreds of households in the Ai Son and Son Van neighborhoods of Hac Thanh ward are also deeply flooded.
The remnants of Typhoon Kajiki brought heavy rain to the area, causing water levels in the Ma, Chu, Buoi, and Cau Chay rivers in Thanh Hoa to rise, exceeding warning level three in many places and causing widespread flooding.
