The Supreme People's Court appoints two more vice presidents

Judges Le Tien and Nguyen Bien Thuy were appointed by the President to serve as vice presidents of the Supreme People's Court, increasing the total number of deputies in the agency to 6.

On 7/1, President Luong Cuong presented the appointment decisions to Le Tien and Nguyen Bien Thuy as vice presidents of the Supreme People's Court. The President stated that both officials are highly qualified, have risen through the ranks, and possess extensive practical experience in the judiciary.

The President expressed hope that the two vice presidents, along with the leadership of the Supreme People's Court, would effectively achieve the goals of protecting justice, human rights, citizen rights, the socialist regime, state interests, and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

Le Tien, 56, from Thanh Hoa, holds a Master of Law degree. He previously held positions as director of the Department for the Exercise of Prosecutorial Powers and Investigation of Economic Cases, a prosecutor at the Supreme People's Procuracy, and chief procurator of the Da Nang City People's Procuracy. In 11/2024, the National Assembly approved his appointment as a Supreme People's Court judge; from 12/2024, he concurrently served as an assistant to the President of the Supreme People's Court.

Nguyen Bien Thuy, 55, from Vinh Long, holds a Master of Law degree. He previously served as chief justice of the former Mo Cay Bac District People's Court, then as vice chief justice and later chief justice of the former Ben Tre Provincial People's Court. In 9/2021, the National Assembly approved his appointment as a Supreme People's Court judge.

The Supreme People's Court currently has 6 vice presidents, including: Nguyen Tri Tue, Duong Van Thang, Nguyen Van Tien, Pham Quoc Hung, Le Tien, and Nguyen Bien Thuy.
