On the evening of 23/2, Colonel Tran Quang Chanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Da Nang City Military Command, stated that authorities are tracking three suspected drones that violated flight safety corridors on 17/2 and 22/2. Initial information, based on pilot reports, cannot definitively confirm whether these were drones or other objects. The targets were detected via radar signals at long distances, sometimes 26-30 kilometers or 6-7 kilometers from the runway approach, at altitudes of 300-400 meters, making visual identification difficult.
To date, authorities have not precisely identified the objects or their operators for enforcement. Detection and tracking efforts are challenging due to distant radar reflections, which complicate determining the nature of the targets.

The Da Nang City Military Command has coordinated with the city Police, Border Guard, and other relevant forces to cordon off areas, collect evidence, and track down organizations or individuals operating flying devices in restricted zones. These units are also increasing patrols in areas bordering the airport, deploying additional observation tools, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) detection and suppression equipment, and assigning personnel and technical resources to manage the area tightly, enforce spontaneous flight control, and boost public awareness campaigns.
From 17/2 to 22/2, Da Nang International Airport recorded three pilot reports of flying objects entering no-fly zones and takeoff/landing corridors. These incidents forced numerous aircraft to enter holding patterns and adjust approach procedures, causing delays and posing potential safety risks.
The Da Nang City Military Command advises organizations and individuals against unauthorized use of UAVs near the airport, national defense-security installations, and restricted or limited flight zones. Residents who observe violations should immediately report them to authorities for prompt handling.
According to Decree 288/2025, unauthorized flights, entry into restricted areas, or non-compliance with control measures are strictly prohibited, punishable by fines of 30-40 million VND and confiscation of the device. Circular 146/2025 of the Ministry of National Defense mandates that UAV operators must undergo proper training and practice before flying.
