Tractor-trailer overturns into residential home, three dead

A tractor-trailer overturned, spilling its cargo into a home along national highway 4A and killing the homeowner along with two occupants of the vehicle.

Around 4:30 p.m. on 18/9, Nguyen Khanh Tung, 46, from Quoc Oai commune, Ha Noi, was driving a tractor-trailer with a semi-trailer. Phan Tuan Ngoc, 45, from Van Quan ward, accompanied him. They were traveling on national highway 4A, heading from Phuc Hoa towards Thach An.

As the vehicle navigated a curve in Na Danh hamlet, Thach An commune, it swerved and then overturned near the roadside. Its cargo spilled into the home of Nong Thanh Tam, 58, also in Thach An commune, located about 3 meters from the road.

Tam, driver Tung, and Ngoc died instantly at the scene. Tam's modest, single-story house sustained damage, with many structural components collapsing and debris scattered. The tractor and semi-trailer lay overturned near the edge of the road.

The Thach An Commune People's Committee (UBND) worked with police to mobilize machinery for rescue and recovery operations. They also secured the area and managed traffic. By approximately 8:50 p.m., rescue workers had recovered the bodies of the three victims from the scene.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
