According to the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security), compared to the four-day national day holiday last year, the number of accidents decreased by 84, fatalities by 39, and injuries by 76.
Local traffic police detected and handled over 38,000 traffic violations. Nearly 1,200 driving licenses and professional certificates were revoked, over 4,460 licenses had points deducted, and 180 cars and 8,830 motorbikes were impounded. Among these, nearly 7,000 cases involved alcohol violations and over 9,800 involved speeding.
The Traffic Police Department attributed the remaining accidents to poor driver awareness, failure to maintain safe distances, and disregard for appropriate speeds based on road conditions, bridges, tunnels, and weather, especially among commercial drivers (trucks, buses, etc.).

The Traffic Police Department also reported that during the holiday period, they deployed 100% of their forces to ensure traffic order and safety, manage traffic flow, and escort delegations. They also coordinated with other agencies to maintain security, order, and address traffic congestion. Over 650 police officers from various provinces and cities were mobilized to Hanoi to support the 80th National Day celebration and parade on 2/9.
