As the last workday before the holiday, many people headed to the airport after work to return home or embark on trips, contributing to the escalating traffic volume. The Tran Quoc Hoan - Phan Thuc Duyen underpass experienced severe congestion, with cars and motorbikes jammed together, at times at a standstill. This caused long delays for those trying to reach Terminal 3, located 1.3 km away.

To escape the gridlock, one person resorted to pushing their bicycle along the sidewalk inside the underpass.

About 300 meters away, heavy traffic flowed from Cong Hoa Street over the Lang Cha Ca roundabout overpass towards Hoang Van Thu Street and Tan Son Nhat airport, further complicating the traffic situation.

Amidst the congestion on Hoang Van Thu Street, in front of the gate to Military Zone 7, a car collided with a motorbike stopped in the middle of the lane. Traffic police had to spend extra time handling the incident and clearing the vehicles while managing traffic flow to alleviate the congestion.

At 5:30 p.m., a sudden downpour forced many motorbike riders to pull over to the side of the road to put on raincoats, further obstructing traffic around the airport access roads.
