Traffic police pursue for over 2 km, apprehending driver for alcohol and speeding violations

Thai Nguyen traffic police used a specialized vehicle to pursue a driver for 2,5 km for speeding and alcohol violations on the afternoon of 10/5.

Around 2:15 PM, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police's Traffic Police Department, in coordination with Diem Thuy Commune Police, was patrolling the DT266 route, heading from Phu Binh Commune towards Song Cong Ward.

During their patrol, the task force identified a 28-year-old male driver, residing in Phu Binh Commune, operating a vehicle at excessive speed (64 km/h in a 50 km/h zone).

When signaled to stop for inspection, the driver failed to comply, instead accelerating and driving directly towards the task force.

Recognizing the driver's dangerous behavior, which posed a direct threat to public safety, traffic police used a specialized vehicle to pursue and signal the driver to stop.

After approximately 2,5 km, upon reaching Diem Thuy Industrial Park, the driver reduced speed. However, as traffic police approached for inspection, the individual again accelerated, striking and breaking the door of the specialized police vehicle.

The task force, in coordination with the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Investigative Agency and Diem Thuy Commune Police, subsequently apprehended the driver. The individual and the vehicle were temporarily detained for investigation.

In addition to speeding, the driver also violated alcohol limits, recording 0,053 mg/liter of breath.
