The decision regarding the province's leadership was announced on the morning of 23/9 at the Thai Nguyen provincial party congress.
Alongside Secretary Trinh Viet Hung, the new term's deputy secretaries include Nguyen Dang Binh, standing deputy secretary and chairman of the provincial people's council; Pham Hoang Son, deputy secretary and chairman of the provincial people's committee; and Dinh Quang Tuyen, deputy secretary and chairman of the provincial Vietnam fatherland front committee.
The first term of the Thai Nguyen provincial party committee for 2025-2030 comprises 65 members, with 17 members in the standing committee.

Trinh Viet Hung, 48, from Hai Duong, is an alternate member of the 13th central committee. He has worked in Thai Nguyen for many years, holding positions such as chief of the provincial people's committee office, secretary of Dong Hy district party committee, and standing vice chairman of the provincial people's committee. From 12/2020, he served as chairman of the provincial people's committee.
In July 2024, he was elected as party secretary of Thai Nguyen. Following the merger of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan in June 2025, the politburo reappointed him as party secretary of Thai Nguyen province.
