Nguyen Cong Hoang, 47, is from Binh Chau commune (formerly), now Dong Son commune, Quang Ngai (permanent residence in Cam Thanh ward). He is an architect, holds a master's degree in economic management, a bachelor's degree in business administration, and has completed high-level political theory training.
Hoang previously served as deputy head and head of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, and as deputy director of the Quang Ngai Department of Construction.
In 2021, Hoang became director of the Department of Construction. In 2023, he was elected secretary of Son Tinh district. Since July 1st, he has been appointed secretary of Ba Gia commune.
Do Tam Hien, 44, is from Nghia Dong commune (formerly), now An Phu commune, Quang Ngai. He holds a master's degree in engineering, is a civil and industrial construction engineer, has a bachelor's degree in English, and has completed high-level political theory training.
Hien previously served as vice chairman of the Quang Ngai City People's Committee. From 2021, he was director of the Management Board for Investment and Construction of Traffic Works. In July 2022, he was elected chairman of the Duc Pho Town People's Committee. In early 2024, he became secretary of the Duc Pho Town Party Committee. Since July 1st, he has been appointed secretary of Khanh Cuong commune.
Previously, the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee was headed by Chairman Nguyen Hoang Giang, with three vice chairmen: Y Ngoc (permanent vice chair), Tran Ngoc Sam, and Tran Phuoc Hien. With the election of Hien and Hoang, the committee now has five vice chairmen.
According to Nguyen Hoang Giang, the merger of Quang Ngai and Kon Tum coincided with the retirement of three of the six vice chairmen. As the province is allowed five vice chairmen, there was a shortage of two.
Due to the large area, significant population, substantial workload, and the need for specialized expertise in certain areas, strengthening the leadership team is necessary. Both individuals were planned for these positions before the provincial merger.
