According to the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), after more than 10 hours, Typhoon Kajiki caused three deaths in Ninh Binh, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces. 13 people were injured, including five each in Ha Tinh and Quang Tri.

The 300-square-meter home of 43-year-old Tran Thi Loc, located in Cuong Thinh village, also houses a car wash. Last night, the wind ripped off the roof, damaging property and car wash equipment.

Nguyen Van Dao, 35, the owner of a construction materials store in Lam Vuong village, Co Dam commune, said strong winds at 8 p.m. on 25/8 ripped the entire roof off his shop. The roof crushed merchandise, forcing his family to seek shelter with neighbors, unable to salvage anything.

Typhoon Kajiki raged for over 10 hours in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh, reaching a maximum wind speed of level 12 upon landfall, decreasing to level 8 at the Vietnam-Laos border.
This morning, the typhoon weakened into a tropical depression upon entering Laos, with maximum sustained winds of 61 km/h (level 7), gusting to level 9, continuing to bring heavy rain to north-central Vietnam and the northern region.
