At a press conference on August 22 about the "80 Years of National Achievements" exhibition, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong described the exhibition commemorating 80 years of national independence as an opportunity for the public to reflect on a challenging yet glorious historical journey. It also aims to provide younger generations with deeper insights into the resilience and aspirations of the Vietnamese people.
According to Dong, this is an unprecedented national-scale exhibition, displaying numerous artifacts and images showcasing the achievements of 34 provinces and cities, 28 ministries and sectors, 94 private enterprises, and 12 state-owned enterprises. Despite a tight timeline of just over a month, preparations for the exhibition's opening ceremony are essentially complete. Over 3,000 guests are expected to attend.
The exhibition will employ various display methods, including large panels, photographs, drawings, documents, and artifacts. These will be combined with 3D mapping projections, virtual reality experiences, multimedia audiovisual works, and modern digital technology applications.
The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition presents Vietnam's notable achievements over eight decades of development across various sectors. Key highlights include industry and technology; investment and trade; agriculture and rural development; security and national defense; foreign affairs; healthcare and education; and culture, sports, and tourism.

The exhibition also showcases Vietnamese culture, encompassing the traditions and rich diversity of its 54 ethnic groups. It features the abundant resources and products of the country's three regions (North, Central, and South), along with prominent architectural works from the past and present.
Green industries and the journey towards green and digital transformation, the aviation and aerospace industry, and the security and national defense industry are also featured.
The exhibition is divided into three zones: a general overview at the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall; an outdoor exhibition area; and an international exhibition area focusing on 12 cultural industries at Exhibition Hall A.
According to Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong, alongside the main exhibition, Hall A will host film screenings, artistic and fashion performances, and interactions with art groups and talk shows. The hall features a 4,000 m2 stage and a 200-seat cinema that will screen Vietnamese films and host artist meet-and-greets.
The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition will take place from 28/8 to 5/9 at the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi. The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. on 28/8, and the closing ceremony for 8 p.m. on 5/9.
