Vietnamese automaker VinFast unveiled the Lac Hong 900 LX Bulletproof edition at the "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition at the National Exhibition Construction Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi on 28/8. The showcased vehicle had undergone testing at Vingroup's outdoor area in San Tay.
The Lac Hong 900 LX comes in two versions: Bulletproof and Standard. In addition to the Standard edition's features, the Bulletproof version receives comprehensive armoring, reinforcing the body, chassis, glass, and rear bulkhead. This upgrade is courtesy of Inkas Armored Vehicle Manufacturing (Canada), a renowned armored vehicle specialist.

The Lac Hong 900 LX boasts VPAM VR 7 ballistic protection, the highest level available for civilian vehicles. It can withstand NATO Ball M80 rounds typically used in M14 and AK-47 rifles, measuring 7.62 x 51 (mm), as well as DM51 grenades.

Bullet impacts are visible on the bulletproof glass. Inkas conducted tests at 90 degrees and various other angles depending on the area being assessed.
The Lac Hong 900 LX Bulletproof edition measures 5,342 x 2,254 x 1,697 mm (length x width x height), while the standard VF 9 measures 5,118 x 2,254 x 1,696 mm. The Bulletproof edition's wheelbase is 3,349 mm, 199 mm longer than the VF 9.

The Lac Hong 900 LX Bulletproof edition weighs 5,049 kg, 2,014 kg heavier than the Standard version.
The Bulletproof version retains the two motors but increases total output to 455 horsepower, with a range of 450 km per charge. The Standard edition shares the VF 9 Plus's specifications: two 150 kW motors per axle (totaling 402 horsepower), 620 Nm of torque, a 123 kWh battery, and a 595 km range.

The vehicle features 19-inch wheels instead of the standard 21-inch ones.
It is equipped with Falken (Japan) run-flat tires, sized 275/55R19, allowing for 80-100 km of travel after a puncture. Optional specialized equipment includes an oxygen supply system, an integrated fire suppression system, a satellite phone, warning lights, and a siren, depending on requirements.

The Lac Hong 900 LX Bulletproof is a special, limited-production model. VinFast delivered the first batch of Lac Hong 900 LX vehicles to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for transporting foreign dignitaries. The company has handed over two bulletproof vehicles and 10 standard ones. The Bulletproof version weighs 5,049 kg, while the Standard version weighs 3,035 kg.
The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition runs from 28/8 to 5/9/2025 at the National Exhibition Construction Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi.
