Concrete protecting pier T2 also showed damage, exposing some steel. The fire also caused a short circuit in lighting cabinet T2A, resulting in a power outage for 54 lights on the bridge heading from Long Bien to the city center.

As a safety precaution, the Department of Construction has restricted traffic on ramp CV1C to vehicles under 18 tons (50% of the design load). They will continue monitoring the ramp's condition.
Further inspections will determine the necessary repairs. The department will also advise the People's Committee of Hanoi to review all bridges with parking underneath to improve management and prevent similar incidents.
On the afternoon of 30/8, a fire at the parking lot under the Vinh Tuy bridge at 335 Nguyen Khoai destroyed approximately 500 motorbikes, covering an area of about 300 square meters. The area is currently closed for investigation.
The 3.5 km, eight-lane Vinh Tuy bridge crosses the Red river, connecting Vinh Tuy ward with Long Bien ward. It links ring roads, reducing traffic congestion and facilitating travel between the city center and the northern and northeastern areas.
