Vung Tau's landmark tower opens to the public

The Tam Thang Tower at Back Beach, Vung Tau, captivated thousands with its artistic display of light and music on the evening of 30/8.

Funded and constructed by a private enterprise in 75 days, the 155 billion VND tower stands at the heart of Back Beach in Vung Tau ward. The Tam Thang Tower comprises 143 reinforced concrete pillars, ranging from 4.55 to over 34 meters high, arranged in ascending order facing the sea.

Its design, resembling three boats sailing out to sea, evokes the historical tale of the three Thang villages – Thang Nhat, Thang Nhi, and Thang Tam – places integral to coastal defense since the reign of Emperor Gia Long.

The tower's mosaic tile facade creates captivating light effects both in sunlight and under artificial illumination. At night, a multi-colored lighting system transforms the tower into a "forest of light". Beyond the tower, the surrounding plaza offers a versatile community space exceeding 17,000 m2, featuring a musical fountain, a viewing point, and underground services.

During the Tam Thang Plaza's opening night, the musical fountain became a focal point, drawing hundreds of children to play beneath the illuminated jets of water. Set to lively music, the water changed colors, creating a vibrant spectacle.

Nguyen Hoai Huong, visiting Vung Tau from Dong Nai with her two children for the holiday, praised the newly renovated Back Beach park and the modern Tam Thang Tower. "It's a place where adults can enjoy the seaside atmosphere and children have a safe and exciting place to play," she said.

Huong believes structures like the Tam Thang Tower not only enhance Vung Tau's image but also instill pride in residents of neighboring provinces. She plans to make it a regular weekend and holiday destination for her family.

The Back Beach renovation project, encompassing 12 items with a total budget of 1,094 billion VND, is nearing completion and is scheduled to be inaugurated on National Day, 2/9.
