Young man's SH motorbike confiscated for driving with two feet

A 25-year-old man had his SH motorbike confiscated by police after he was caught driving with both feet, hands-free, on a road along the Dong Nai River, endangering other road users.

On 9/1, the Dong Nai Provincial Police's Traffic Police Department issued a fine to a man from Long Binh ward for steering his motorbike with his feet. In addition to the fine, his SH motorbike was confiscated, and his driver's license was revoked for 22–24 months.

The incident came to light after a video circulated on social media, showing the man riding his motorbike on the Dong Nai riverbank route in Tran Bien ward. For several seconds, he released both hands from the handlebars and controlled the vehicle using only his feet. When invited for questioning, the man admitted the incident occurred on the afternoon of 12/12/2025.

According to Clause 11, Article 7 of Decree 168, individuals operating motorbikes and mopeds face vehicle confiscation for various dangerous behaviors. These include: releasing both hands while driving; using feet to steer the vehicle; sitting on one side to steer; lying on the seat to steer; changing drivers while the vehicle is in motion; turning backwards to steer or steering blindfolded; driving on one wheel for two-wheeled vehicles, or two wheels for three-wheeled vehicles; and repeat offenses of swerving or weaving on public roads.
