10 check-in spots along the VnExpress Marathon Can Tho route

The VnExpress Marathon Can Tho 2025 route passes many cultural and tourist landmarks of the city, such as Ninh Kieu Bridge and Cai Rang Floating Market.

Hau River Park

Hau River Park is the starting point of the VnExpress Marathon Can Tho 2025. Located next to the river, the park offers a spacious area with greenery interspersed with riverside walkways, a familiar community space for city residents. Known as the "green lung" of Can Tho, the park frequently hosts cultural and sporting events.

This is not only the starting line but also the finish line for the 21km, 10km, and 5km races. Runners can arrive early to warm up and take photos with friends and family. Or they can check in after finishing with their medals in this area when it's brighter. From here, runners can take photos with the Hau River or Can Tho Stadium in the background.

Cai Rang Floating Market

This is one of Can Tho's famous tourist icons, located on the 21km and 42km routes. Most runners will pass the floating market as boats begin their bustling trade in the early morning. The vibrant river scene will provide a unique and memorable experience for the athletes.

Cai Rang Floating Market is busiest between 6 and 7 a.m. Runners can capture panoramic views of the river with boats laden with fruits and vegetables or document the trading activities of the locals.

Ninh Kieu Bridge

Spanning Cai Khe canal, Ninh Kieu Bridge connects Con Cai Khe to the city center and is a highlight on the 10km and 21km routes. Almost 500 meters long with an open deck, it offers expansive views of the city center and the river below. As they cross, runners can easily capture the iconic "bridge crossing" moment of the Mekong Delta race.

Con Cai Khe

Featured in all four distances (5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km), Con Cai Khe is a riverside road shaded by trees, integral to local life. Runners will traverse this area to experience the blend of modern development and the characteristic Mekong Delta orchard atmosphere before continuing to the next landmarks. "Con" refers to a small, elevated piece of land, usually situated in a river, while "Cai," in ancient Funan language, means a small river or canal.

Hung Kings Temple

Located on the 42km route, the Hung Kings Temple honors the Hung Kings, the ancestors of the Vietnamese people. Runners will pass this point just before finishing at Binh Thuy Square. The temple's majestic architecture promises to add meaning to the run.

Runners can take photos with the triple gate or the main staircase. This location also has a water station, making it suitable for a quick stop to replenish energy.

Thoi Long Co Tu Pagoda

Located on the 21km and 42km routes, Thoi Long Co Tu Pagoda is one of the famous ancient pagodas in Can Tho. With its time-honored architecture and riverside location, this spot offers a blend of ancient charm and tranquility.

With its mossy tile roof and ancient trees, Thoi Long Co Tu Pagoda can help runners catch their breath and enjoy a moment of serenity mid-race.

Luu Huu Phuoc Park

Situated on Hoa Binh Boulevard, Luu Huu Phuoc Park is located around the 7.5km mark of the 10km route and the 19km mark of the 21km route. A green space of over two hectares with winding paths and a statue of musician Luu Huu Phuoc at its center, it's a training spot for many local runners. From above, Luu Huu Phuoc Park resembles a hollow-body guitar, a symbol of "don ca tai tu," the traditional chamber music of the Mekong Delta.

The VnExpress Marathon Can Tho organizers drew inspiration from this to design the race's medal. High-angle shots can help runners capture impressive moments as they pass this area.

Tan An Communal House

Located on the routes of all four distances, Tan An Communal House is near Con Cai Khe, with its red tile roof standing out amidst the urban area. This is a long-standing relic with distinct southern Vietnamese communal house architecture, now beautifully restored. Not far from Ninh Kieu Pedestrian Bridge, it's also suitable for runners to warm up or relax after the race.

Truc Lam Nam Phuong Monastery

Located on the 42km route, Truc Lam Nam Phuong Monastery offers a serene and green space in the heart of the city. From the outside, runners will see three gates, the largest of which is the central gate bearing the monastery's name. The gate features typical Vietnamese communal house and pagoda architecture but with a unique ship's wheel design on top.

Binh Thuy Square

The finish line for the 42km race, this spacious and modern square is convenient for traffic flow and runner recovery post-race. The area is also associated with historical sites like Binh Thuy Ancient House and Binh Thuy Communal House.
