5,000 runners ready for public security force's 81st anniversary race

The "81-year journey - for national security" race kicks off at 4:00 AM on 2/8 at NovaWorld Phan Thiet, featuring four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km.

The "81-year journey - for national security" race will take place on 2/8 at Bikini Beach Square, NovaWorld Phan Thiet (Tien Thanh ward, Lam Dong). This event will bring together 5,000 athletes competing in four distances: 5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km.

The Vietnam People's Public Security Sports Association, in collaboration with NovaWorld, organizes the race, with VnExpress Marathon operating the event. It commemorates the 81st Traditional Day of the Public Security Force, with over 450 police officers and soldiers also participating.

This race is a key event within the Sports Festival 2026 series, which runs from 8/7 to 23/8. The festival includes seven disciplines: running, triathlon, cycling, pickleball, golf, beach volleyball, and tennis, attracting approximately 17,000 athletes.

The course starts and finishes at Bikini Beach Square, traversing the Lac Long Quan coastal road and NovaWorld's internal routes, which feature gentle slopes. Organizers have arranged 26 aid stations and 25 medical stations along the route. The opening ceremony will be held on the evening of 1/8, featuring artists My Linh, Buc Tuong, Pham Anh Khoa, and a fireworks display.
