Each collection highlighted her toned physique, a result of years of training. Many viewers remarked on Yanni's professional model-like presence, labeling her "the supermodel of the fashion world".
"Her appeal stems not only from her captivating appearance but also from the balance between an athlete's explosive power and a woman's soft, agile qualities", Chinapress commented, adding that "Wu's image helps challenge the stereotype that female athletes are solely defined by their competitive achievements".

Wu Yanni celebrated her 29th birthday on 28/7. She posted a video on social media marking the occasion, featuring her in a sparkling crystal crown and a youthful off-the-shoulder top within an elaborately decorated party setting.
A unique highlight of the celebration was the three birthday cakes, each prepared in a distinct style. One featured a sports theme, incorporating a running track, hurdles, and the number 29. Another showcased feminine pink and white tones, while the third presented a charming cartoon design.
A representative for Wu Yanni's team stated that the three cakes were gifts from her family, teammates, and brand partners to mark her birthday. The video showed the athlete, joined by loved ones and friends, cutting the cakes, making wishes, and sharing radiant smiles.
On social media, Wu Yanni further entertained fans with a playful birthday message: "Today I'm 19 years old". Her youthful and cheerful demeanor garnered significant positive feedback. Many humorously inquired about the best-tasting cake or commented on the joy of receiving three birthday cakes.
Yet, behind her confident image on the track and before the camera lies a challenging journey. Approximately one month before her birthday, she competed in a crucial event at the Chinese National Championship. In the 100m hurdles final on 29/6, despite a waterlogged track, Wu Yanni clocked 12.99 seconds, securing her fifth consecutive title in the event.
This achievement further solidified the 1997-born athlete's domestic standing. Following a challenging period, including missing the 2022 Hangzhou Asiad due to injury, Wu Yanni has steadily reasserted herself through consistent performance and a fierce competitive spirit.
"The fiercer the competition, the more I enjoy the challenge", the athlete once declared. This never-give-up spirit has become a hallmark of her career, alongside her energetic and charismatic competitive style.
At 29, Wu Yanni acknowledges she is past her athletic prime but remains focused on ambitious goals. Her immediate plan is to prepare for the 2026 Asiad, scheduled from 19/9 to 4/10 in Nagoya, Japan.
From the track to the camera's lens, Wu Yanni demonstrates that beauty and capability are not mutually exclusive. Once a figure of debate, she is now garnering more positive recognition as audiences perceive her not only as a formidable athlete but also as a young woman who embraces life.
