Coach Kim Sang-sik addressed the media on the evening of 31/7, following Vietnam's 0-0 draw against Singapore in the third matchday of ASEAN Cup 2026 Group A at My Dinh Stadium.
The goalless draw extended Vietnam's unbeaten streak against Singapore to 28 years, a run that began after a 0-1 loss in the 1998 Tiger Cup final, now known as the ASEAN Cup, at Hang Day Stadium. This recent result marks Vietnam's tenth draw against the "Lion City" team, alongside nine victories and four defeats in their head-to-head encounters.
With just four points from two matches, Vietnam currently sits third in ASEAN Cup 2026 Group A. Singapore leads the group with seven points from three matches, while Indonesia is second with six points from two matches.
Vietnam will travel to face Indonesia on 3/8 for their next fixture.
