Coach Kim Sang-sik addressed the media at a press conference held this morning at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), discussing Vietnam's final group A match in the ASEAN Cup 2026 against Cambodia. Vietnam currently leads group A with 7 points, holding a significant advantage in goal difference over Singapore (+10 compared to +3), and is on the verge of securing the top spot.
The press conference commenced at 11:30 AM. Vietnam is almost guaranteed to finish first in the group if they defeat Cambodia, who have already been eliminated from the tournament. Meanwhile, Singapore, also with 7 points, faces a challenging match against Indonesia on their home ground, which could further solidify Vietnam's position.
Historically, Vietnam has maintained a perfect record against Cambodia, winning all 11 previous encounters. The most recent victory was a 2-1 friendly match played at Binh Duong Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City. Securing first place in the group would provide Coach Kim Sang-sik's team with a crucial advantage, allowing them to play the second leg of both the semifinals and the final on their home turf.
