In the three-part Netflix documentary "MOURINHO", Jose Mourinho continues to refuse to apologize to Eva Carneiro, defending his actions during Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Swansea in 2015. At that time, Carneiro and physiotherapist Jon Fearn ran onto the pitch to treat Eden Hazard, who was on the ground after a collision.

"11 years have passed, and we are reliving the worst of it. I hope they are making some money", Carneiro wrote on X.

She also criticized John Terry, Chelsea's captain at the time, who sided with Mourinho in the documentary. Carneiro stated, "We are bound by ethical and legal rules in medicine. Frankly, it would be good for Terry if he learned the rules of the game. It's been long enough, mate."

In another post, the former Chelsea doctor explained that referee Michael Oliver called the medical team onto the pitch two times, and Hazard also requested treatment two times. Carneiro wrote, "We looked at each other from the touchline, and he confirmed he needed medical assistance, two times. At that moment, as a medical professional, I could do nothing else."

Mourinho became furious when Carneiro and Fearn entered the pitch to treat Hazard. After the match, he publicly called Carneiro "impulsive and naive" in his initial reaction to her decision. Carneiro was subsequently removed from first-team duties and left Chelsea one month later.

After Carneiro sued Chelsea, accusing Mourinho of discrimination and claiming the club forced her to leave her job, both sides eventually reached a settlement.

11 years after the incident, Mourinho suggests he treated Carneiro the same way he would treat a male doctor.

"To me, a female doctor is the same as a male doctor. So, as always, I use my words when I am unhappy", Mourinho said in the film. "There are words spoken at times of very high tension. Usually, those with a football culture, football DNA, and a football background would dismiss it in one second. In this case, it was different."

Hazard, who played under Mourinho for two years, also appears in the documentary. The Belgian midfielder suggested the incident was "nothing special", but "with Jose, everything becomes bigger".

Match footage shows Mourinho continuously cursed at Carneiro and Fearn as they treated Hazard. He shouted expletives at the medical team.

"I am not a doctor, but my eyes know when a player is in pain and when he is not", Mourinho said. "I knew he was not injured, but the doctors went onto the pitch. At that point, we only had 9 players."

Hazard had to leave the pitch briefly according to the rules, as a player receiving medical attention on the field must exit before returning to play. Chelsea then had only 9 men because goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois had been sent off.

Terry, who captained Chelsea during both of Mourinho's stints managing the club, stated that players and staff understood that the coach did not want the team doctor on the pitch unless an injury was truly serious.

"Medically, he said that unless the situation was really, really bad, the team doctor would not go on the pitch. That's what we understood as players; the medical team and everyone agreed with that", Terry said in the documentary about Mourinho. "That was clearly a major moment, and he faced significant criticism. The club was under great pressure."

At the conclusion of the court case that year, Chelsea issued a public apology to Carneiro. However, Mourinho did not apologize and even smiled as he left court.

Both sides reached a settlement in a hallway behind the courtroom. Chelsea later released a statement saying the club "regretted the circumstances" that led to Carneiro's departure, and "unconditionally apologized to her and her family for the distress caused".

The settlement terms were kept confidential. However, British media suggested Chelsea had offered Carneiro 1.6 million USD to close the case.

Mourinho did not apologize to Carneiro after the incident, at the court hearing, and there is no indication that he has changed his stance in the new documentary.
