The late registration phase, from august 26 to september 3, will see fees rise to 800,000 Vietnam dong, 1.05 million Vietnam dong, and 1.35 million Vietnam dong.

This year marks the 7th edition of VnExpress Marathon Quy Nhon, with an expected turnout of 8,000 athletes. The 42km distance has been suspended for this year, and the event date has been moved from june to september.

According to Duong Hai Anh, race director of VnExpress Marathon, the decision to streamline the event aims to concentrate resources on the remaining three distances. This focus allows for greater attention to each operational aspect, from safety and medical support to on-course services. The organizing committee also seeks to create opportunities for testing new event formats.

Regarding the schedule change, june typically experiences high temperatures and early sunshine, posing a challenge for runners in longer distances. September offers more favorable racing conditions, while also providing another gathering point for the running community in the second half of the year.

The organizing committee previously unveiled the race shirt and medal designs. The race shirt features a two-layer gradient design, with a milky white base blending into turquoise, accented by a purple-blue strip on the left shoulder. The medal highlights the Tran Hung Dao statue against the backdrop of Quy Nhon bay. Details for the 21km finisher shirt will be announced soon.

Quy Nhon 2026 will be the 10th event in the VnExpress Marathon system this year and the sixth to take place in a coastal city, following Can Gio, Da Nang, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, and Vung Tau. This event offers an ideal opportunity for runners to bring family and friends along. The race occurs in early autumn in the South Central Coast region, making it convenient for a trip that combines tourism and competition.
