Ibrahimovic reacts as US streamer predicts Ronaldo to win 2026 World Cup

Swedish football legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic took the microphone and "invited" popular streamer IShowSpeed to leave the studio after he predicted Portugal would win the 2026 World Cup.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry Henry, and IShowSpeed participated in a Fox Sports commentary program for the opening match between the United States and Paraguay in Group D of the 2026 World Cup on 12/6.

During the broadcast, Ibrahimovic asked IShowSpeed to predict the winner of the 2026 World Cup. The American streamer promptly replied, "Portugal. Ronaldo will win the World Cup".

Henry appeared surprised and turned away. Ibrahimovic then took the microphone, gesturing for IShowSpeed to leave the commentary desk. Although reluctant, the 21-year-old streamer stood up and exited the studio, still insisting that Ronaldo would win the 2026 World Cup.

"I guarantee Ronaldo will win. Watch Ronaldo triumph. Just wait and see", IShowSpeed exclaimed.

The video quickly went viral on social media, as Speed livestreamed the entire incident across his platforms. While some expressed displeasure with the reactions of Henry and particularly Ibrahimovic for escorting IShowSpeed from the studio, many others viewed it as lighthearted banter rather than a genuine dispute.

Earlier, Ibrahimovic also playfully mocked IShowSpeed for wearing a United States jersey paired with shorts in Nigerian colors, especially on the day the co-host nation played its opening World Cup 2026 match against Paraguay.

IShowSpeed, 21, is an internet phenomenon boasting over 54,4 million YouTube subscribers and approximately 48,2 million Instagram followers. He gained fame through his livestreamed football gaming videos, known for their humorous expressions. A passionate fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, IShowSpeed frequently wears his idol's jersey number during streams. He also created a buzz at the 2026 World Cup with his song "World Cup (Champions)".

At SoFi Stadium on friday, 12/6, the United States dominated Paraguay, securing a 4-1 victory. The goals came from an own goal by Damian Bobadilla, a brace by Folarin Balogun, and a decisive strike from Giovanni Reyna.

According to Ibrahimovic, this performance provides a strong foundation for the host nation's deep tournament run. He commented, "Before the match, we discussed belief. My message to the American people is that if you didn't believe in the team before this game, the first-half performance should inspire confidence. If they maintain this form, the United States can achieve great things".

In their second match, the United States will face Australia in Seattle on 19/6. Henry believes the impressive performance against Paraguay will garner increased fan support for the 2026 World Cup co-hosts.

The former French striker remarked, "I believe in what I see, and today I witnessed an excellent team. Personally, I believe they can advance far in this tournament. While that doesn't guarantee success, I think many will now begin to believe the United States team can achieve it".
