According to athlete Trang Do from FTU basketball club, due to the nature of constant movement, jumping, and frequent collisions, he and his teammates prioritize attire made from lightweight, breathable, and highly absorbent materials. "Jersey lines applying sports technology like Li-Ning's AT Dry technology can increase moisture-wicking speed, reducing a stuffy feeling during high-intensity play", the athlete explained.

Beyond material, design also directly impacts performance. A compact, flexible fit allows wearers to easily perform technical movements like dribbling, pivoting, or defending. Shorts combined with breathable mesh fabric are a common choice to optimize comfort during both competition and practice.
